Prop List
Duct tape
We are going to put the duct tape on the back of our hands before putting it on Fraser's face, this will make it less sticky and will make sure that it won't cause damage to Fraser's skin. We will also test it on Fraser to see if he has an allergic reaction and if he does we will use a different kind of tape or a farbric gag.
Hang over medicine
We are going to do tests with different pills to see which one has the best effect. We want one that fizzes but changes the colour of the liquid as little as possible. This is to enforce effect that the main character is getting drugged in the film.
Ski mask
We will be using one that covers all of Alex's features, this means that the audience won't be able to identfy him and will therefore be scared of him. We chose this particular style of mask as it has connotations of crime and evil. This makes Alex's character seem even more threatening.
UPDATE: we chose not to use this prop and instead hide the identities of everyone at first through the angles and shots we used. This made them all seem more threatening and it made it more obvious that Alex was one of them.
Hammer
We are going to be using a real hammer but to make sure it's not a health and safety hazard we won't be swinging it near anyone and it will only be held when needed for the scene. When it is not needed it will be kept out of the way of the filming.
Chair
We will be using a wooden chair similar to the one pictured.
Rope
UPDATE: we didn't use rope as we thought duct tape would be more dramatic. We could also use duct tape to tie his hands and feet a lot easier than we could have with rope. This was also safer for Fraser as it would be easier for us to get him out in case of emergency.

  1. Can you write some explanations for your choices here too? For example, you need to explain selection of style in terms of props - ie why this kind of chair? Is it exactly like this? Chairs are designed in many different ways, and the type selected in any film can carry meaning or confuse it. Equally the mask - explain your choice here and the connotations of this choice. Check your blog for typos - eg hangover/handover.
